Haiku is the latest collection from Tai Ping.  It is inspired by the decorative arts tradition of Japan, a culture notable both for its rich history of art and craft and its important impact on contemporary design trends. The collection references textile weaving and haute couture, papermaking and ceramics, architecture and interior design. Comprised of 28 individual designs, the collection is divided into four categories: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Springtime evokes embroidered kimonos and depict flowers.  Summer celebrates shibori, a centuries-old method of fabric dying.  Autumn’s designs capture the transition of the season; Winter’s patterns borrow classic motifs from Japanese ceramics, architecture, and garden design.
