Thailand-based Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas has signed an agreement with Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) for a new hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The 224-room Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara, which is part of a mixed-use project including a marina and retail and residential space, is expected to open in the first quarter of 2012.

This will be Anantara’s fifth property in the emirate, and its fifth partnership with TDIC.  The group has two hotels already in operation in Abu Dhabi, with a further two due to open by the end of 2011.
